Classes and Webinars
I enjoy creating opportunities for people to learn. I'm skilled in creating in-person learning opportunities (classroom style, facilitation), webinars, and stand-alone e-learning activities. It became clear, years ago, that adults like to be able to choose when and how they learn new skills or required policies and concepts. As a result, I have been very interested in creating learning opportunities that are available to people 24/7.

Creative Learning with Online Tools
I have used a variety of tools to create online learning experiences. These include:
-
Auto Responders.
Customers sign up for a specific topic they would like to learn more about in small chunks, sent to them automatically by email. Sample topics include creating new habits and Tip-a-Day for Celiac Awareness Month. -
Pinterest.
I create Pinterest boards with specific topics to provide information to explore on specific topics. This one was created for Celiac Awareness Month. -
Videos for training.
I've created a variety of videos to meet learning needs. Click here for samples. -
Online Live Polls using Poll Everywhere in presentations.
Course Materials and Curriculum
As a consultant, I've created curriculum and tools for others to use in classroom environments and to use as train the trainer activities. In my private practice, and as a consultant, I created many printed learning activities for people who experience Intellectual Disabilities and those who do not.

Writing and Editing
Writing and editing are the cornerstones of all this work. I created the publication Disability Solutions: A Resource for Families and Others interested in Down Syndrome and Related Disabilities in 1995. The experience led to an interest in health literacy, plain language, and the process of crafting complex ideas and content in easy-to-understand language and presentation. Samples of these skills are displayed in each of the sections in this portfolio.
